Located in the DD3 drainage district, the Benoni Water Care Works treats industrial and domestic wastewater from key Benoni areas. Commissioned in 1935 and progressively upgraded, the plant applies conventional biological treatment, nutrient removal, and disinfection processes.
Located in drainage district, the Esther Park Water Care Works is ERWAT’s smallest facility. Commissioned in 1979, it uses a conventional activated sludge process and was expanded to treat up to 1.0 ML/day.

Located near Van Ryn Dam, the Rynfield Water Care Works treats wastewater from surrounding residential zones. Commissioned in 1969 and later expanded, the facility combines biological filtration and activated sludge processes, with screened, disinfected effluent released into the Blesbokspruit catchment.
The Rynfield WCW is situated south-west of the Van Ryn Dam in Benoni and falls within the DD5 area.
The Daveyton WCW is located 5km from Daveyton town in the DD4 drainage district. Built in 1958, and upgraded several times over a period of time, the works is designed to treat 19 Mℓ/d of raw sewage from the Etwatwa areas.

The JP Marais WCW is situated in Benoni and falls within the DD4 drainage district. Built in 1991, the plant is designed to treat 15 Mℓ/d of industrial effluent and raw sewage from the Benoni, Boksburg, Daveyton and Modderbee areas.

The Welgedacht WCW is situated in the DD4 area with a design capacity of 95 Mℓ/d which utilizes activated sludge processes to treat its influent, which is 20% industrial and 80% domestic.
The Carl Grundlingh WCW is situated north of Nigel and falls within the DD5 drainage district.
The Heidelberg WCW is situated south of Heidelberg and falls within the DD5 drainage district.
The Herbert Bickley WCW is situated south of Nigel town and falls within the DD5 drainage district.
The Ratanda WCW is situated south-west of Ratanda town and falls within the DD5 district.
Tsakane WCW was initially designed with a treatment capacity of 10.8 Mℓ/d in 1975.
The Dekema works is situated in Katlehong and falls within the DD6 drainage district.
Rondebult WCW is situated in Germiston and falls within the DD6 drainage district. It was built in 1937 and currently has a capacity of 36 Mℓ/d.
Vlakplaats is situated in Vosloorus and falls within the DD6 drainage district. The original WCW was built in 1972, but soon after that the need for extension was identified.
The Waterval WCW is the biggest works operated by ERWAT and is situated in the DD6 area at the Klip River.
