On Global Ethics Day 2025, ERWAT joined organisations around the world in recognising the central role of ethics in governance, leadership, and public service. The theme for the year, “Ethics Re-envisioned,” aligned closely with ERWAT’s own values-driven approach to water care and operational excellence.

Re-envisioning Ethics in Service to the Public

ERWAT commemorated Global Ethics Day by reaffirming its unwavering commitment to ethical conduct at every level of the organisation. The focus was on how ethics continue to shape the way ERWAT works, leads, and serves its communities — with transparency, responsibility, and purpose.

The theme “Ethics Re-envisioned” challenged employees, leaders, and stakeholders to reflect on ethics not just as a principle, but as a daily practice embedded in organisational culture.

The RAIE Values: ERWAT’s Ethical Foundation

At the heart of the commemoration were ERWAT’s core values, encapsulated in the RAIE framework:

  • Respect – Treating all individuals with dignity and consideration
  • Accountability – Taking ownership of actions, decisions, and outcomes
  • Integrity – Acting with honesty, fairness, and transparency
  • Efficiency – Delivering results with professionalism and value-for-money principles

Together, these values guide ERWAT’s mission to deliver Excellence in Water Care and ensure that public trust is upheld through every decision and interaction.

Why Ethics Matter in Water Services

As a public utility serving millions, ERWAT understands that ethical leadership is fundamental to:

  • Sustainable service delivery
  • Effective governance and compliance
  • Stakeholder trust and confidence
  • Long-term community impact

Global Ethics Day 2025 served as both a celebration and a reaffirmation of ERWAT’s pledge to place ethics at the core of its strategy and operations.
