Providing capacity and optimising facilities

The Infrastructure, Planning & Projects (IP&P) function plays a critical role in ensuring that ERWAT’s wastewater infrastructure is adequately planned, efficiently utilised, and sustainably expanded to meet current and future demand.
The Infrastructure, Planning & Projects (IP&P) function plays a critical role in ensuring that ERWAT’s wastewater infrastructure is adequately planned, efficiently utilised, and sustainably expanded to meet current and future demand.

Through the application of appropriate treatment technologies, continuous quality improvement, and ongoing research and development, ERWAT maximises the use of existing infrastructure and ensures optimal use of available resources. This approach supports long-term asset performance and operational efficiency.

IP&P is responsible for driving strategic project planning and implementation, from early-stage pre-planning through to project completion. This ensures that wastewater management solutions are delivered in a structured, compliant, and effective manner.

As the custodian of ERWAT’s capital expenditure (CAPEX) programme, IP&P oversees budget implementation and project execution. The function is accountable for ensuring sound resource allocation, cost control, and the delivery of projects that meet quality standards, performance objectives, and future wastewater management requirements.
